Considerando il punto di partenza della famiglia KTM Duke, la 690 Duke rappresenta un incredibile passo avanti. Il motore è estremamente raffinato e allo stesso tempo potente per un monocilindrico da strada. Nonostante tutta la tecnologia a bordo, è ancora una moto molto leggera e può quasi essere definita un giocattolo (in senso buono). Solo la sua posizione di seduta divide le opinioni, perché con la Duke 4 del 2012, l'ex supermoto è diventata una naked quasi addomesticata con una posizione di seduta orientata verso la ruota anteriore. Il vantaggio: la vita quotidiana e i lunghi tour non dovrebbero essere un problema per l'attuale Duke.
