De hightech raket van Yamaha is in 2016 nog steeds technologisch toonaangevend. Hij is radicaal, polariserend en fascinerend en zet krachtige rondetijden neer. Hij staat dichter bij de racemotoren dan de andere 1000cc-motoren. Ondertussen klaagt niemand over de voorkant. Zonder de "M" is dit de beste keuze voor diegenen die toch geen Öhlins nodig hebben of de beste keuze voor diegenen die toch al een circuitombouw plannen en "normale" Öhlins hardware willen installeren zonder het elektrische spul.
